My role in the campus upgrade
During the first half of October 2026, I spent approximately two weeks escorting Boldyn Networks technicians on campus through Rider University’s IT team. My contribution was on-site escort support while the technicians carried out the network upgrade.
What the experience added
- A closer view of wireless infrastructure: I observed access-point installation in an existing campus environment.
- Context for cabling and testing: I saw how the technicians approached physical connections and used testing equipment as part of their work.
- Experience alongside a network provider: I spent time with the Boldyn team and learned from seeing their work firsthand.
Building on my networking knowledge
I already had a foundation in computer networking. This experience helped me connect that knowledge to the physical equipment and practical work behind campus connectivity. My role was escorting the technicians; the installation and technical testing were performed by the Boldyn team.
I’m grateful to Rider IT and Boldyn for the opportunity to learn alongside them. It gave me useful context to bring back to my own networking and cybersecurity studies.
